Midwest Permaculture is a Stelle based educational company providing in-depth permaculture training.

Stelle Telephone Company is America's first off grid solar powered telephone company.

Greenhouse Bed and Breakfast, located two miles south of Stelle, is affiliated with Center for Sustainable Community. Some CSC events are held on its premises. It is available for parties, meetings, and weddings as well as overnight stays.

Sunwize Technologies is a photovoltaic technology company with a sales office in Stelle.

Blackman Raku Pottery carries high quality raku pottery. It is owned and operated by long-time Stelle participant George Blackman.

Illinois Small Farms provides information for both the commercial small farmer as well as the small acreage landowner. The purpose of this website is to provide easy access to information for small-scale farmers and those who work with them.

International Institute of Ecological Agriculture (IIEA) is dedicated to healing the planet while providing for the human community by education and implementation of socially just, ecological, resource conserving forms of agriculture; the basis of all sustainable societies. IIEA taught the July 2004 permaculture course held in Stelle.

University of Illinois Building Research Council provides information on sustainable building from the School of Architecture  University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  In May of 2001 the Sustainable Architecture class from U of I created a design for a sustainable retreat/convention center for the community of Stelle.

Illinois Stewardship Alliance is a 30 year old citizen's organization that promotes a safe and nutritious food system, family farming, and healthy communities by advocating diverse, humane, and socially just and ecologically sustainable production and marketing practices.

Our Privacy Policy
The Center for Sustainable Community is committed to protecting the privacy of our online visitors. We collect information from online visitors who ask to be on our newsletter mailing list and/or receive periodic email announcements. Anyone who wishes can choose to be removed from our mailing list at any time.

In addition, online visitors who wish to purchase a membership through our Web site must provide their name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card number and expiration date. All credit card transactions occur over a secure connection.

All online visitor data collected by the Center for Sustainable Community is protected against unauthorized access. We will not sell, trade, or give your personal information to other companies or organizations.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have personal information on a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information from our systems. The Center for Sustainable Community encourages parents to go online with their children. Here are a few tips to help make a child's online experience safer:

Teach children never to give personal information, unless supervised by a parent or responsible adult. Includes name, address, phone, school, etc.
Know the sites your children are visiting and which sites are appropriate.
Look for Web site privacy policies. Know how your child's information is treated.

Any other disputes will be resolved as follows:

If a dispute arises under this agreement, we agree to first try to resolve it with the help of a mutually agreed-upon mediator in the following location: Paxton, Illinois. Any costs and fees other than attorney fees associated with the mediation will be shared equally by each of us.

If it proves impossible to arrive at a mutually satisfactory solution through mediation, we agree to submit the dispute to binding arbitration at the following location: Paxton, Illinois under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitration may be entered in any court with jurisdiction to do so.
